i just can't stop myself from thinking about band

it really seems like yesterday when i joined the sec 1s (2o03) when i just joined band with caiying and cheryl dan
i was so unfamiliar with everything then
corina brought the 3 of us into the band room
and she intro-ed us to weisheng, one of the band leader then
then we were waiting. for? i duno

we got audtioned, and i got into percussion section
caiying got into trombone section
cheryl was initially in flute section, then later got trasferred to saxophone

the 3 of us had struggled through
becoz we dun have and music bkground.
even though i was a ex-co percussionists, things aren't quite similar in band

there were many instruments that i got to know
initially, i often get confused by the different instruments
i once thought that timpani was something SMALL.
'VERY SMALL' indeed =X lols

but not anymore.
im now more than familiar with all of them

junior band were not that taxing then
i rmb every sat we had drills.
kinda missing it now
haven't been doing drills for a very long time

hmms.
then we prepared for xinfony IV
JB played 'Quiet Song' and 'Rock aorund the clock'
that year rock around the clock was being played 3 times. lols

but anyways, it was great lah

then it was also the SYF year.
and band got GOLD!
really very happy then although i wasn't involved
i rmb that eunice was so happy about it that when she saw me outside the school library, we were hugging each other! LOL =D

then soon..
i joined the main band with the sec 1s

i could not really adapt to it.
cuz we always have to sight read new scores
which i am not really good at it.
i will never fail to get lost in the middle of the piece
and i had always been so afraid to play crash cymbals you know

but not anymore (=
crash cymbals rocks can? xP

so i ended playing so many crash cymbal parts during XinfonyV

anyways, Ms Tan left and Mr Tan came
we had our very first Balloon Hat Festival!
it was totally great lahh =D
even though the balloons dun like me and it kept bursting =X

then preparation for Xinfony V began
life starts to be more and more taxing
late practices for alumni band.
but nevertheless, i enjoyed them

and not to forget about Balloonology
we went to Mr Lim's house to practise until very late.

then i remembered how i struggled for my studies.
i was so depressed then
i realised im really bad at time management.
and i am still seriously bad at it

I fear, I fear and I fear...

Anyways, yizhen and ahmad left us.

last year we had many section lunch, and i also learnt how to play mahjong at ah yiang's house
and we went to Mr Lim's house to celebrate christmas

it was time to prepare for SYF
all of us went through so much

for months, we were just playing that 2 pieces.
during camps, we spent hours and hours practising the 2 pieces.
and we will go, 'let's have a 10 minutes break' everytime we finish Emperata Overture

So anyways, we often got scolded for not practising hard enough, etc
as SYF get closer and closer, everyone got so worried.
Band practices always ended very late.
and by the time i reach home it's really late and im all drained and tired

the last 2 weeks.
we had really intensive training

and Speech-cum-Homecoming Day was just a few days before SYF
People were so depressed. Cuz we played really badly

But miraclely, we turned out pretty well the next 2 days.
Sunday, we went back to practice.
Monday, we played under the stars. and we heard of so many schools getting GOLd.
Tuesday was the day

We came back with Silver.

And that was it.
Everyone was so traumatised by it
Tears would just flow down.

then next was, Balloon Hat Fest.
everything was just one after another.
i couldn't find them to catch a breath
But seriously, I had great fun.

Soon after, we had to start preparing for Xinfony VI
(im not going to repeat everything all over)

so all these have to come to an end soon after 60th anniversary

and i have to start preparing hard to my examinations :(

i have accomplished much this year.
i designed the band blog, Xinfony VI tee and the Momento for this year's grauation batch
although the results din turn out as wad had expected it to be.

no matter how much i dun wish to leave, i still have to.

Truly, im glad to have all of you
YOU rocked my life!
I duno how I would be like without you people

Thanks a LOT! =D
LOVE;

OFF!
